The best gift for less than a dollar

This may be out of the way in the usual rags to riches stories and blog posts but for me this is worth mentioning.
Almost a week ago, Rafi and his twin brother celebrated their 22nd birthday. For weeks i kept racking my brains on what to give them. Should i give them something separately or just one gift for both of them? What should i give that would be easy on the pocket yet something that they will certainly remember. Well their birthday came and went and i gave them a birthday cake with two pieces of numbers 2 candles. It’s not really cheap but it was well worth it. Imagine two identical grown up men blowing number two candles. Tee hee!
We started this blog to earn money online and i’m not about to be extravagant and waste our earnings next time with my gifts. With this in mind, i wrote down a list of gifts which i can give that would cost less than a dollar. Mind you though that some of my ideas are not your usual wrapped gifts.
- Bubble gum wrapper
- Coupons
- Origami
- Message in a bottle
- Buy a pack of bubble gum and replace the gum with the folded paper containing your birthday greetings. In our country, one pack of bubble gum includes 10 individually wrapped bubble gums. So i can just remove one gum and change it with my message. Cost: $0.25 bubble gum pack
- What can be more special than creating your very own coupons. You can design your very own coupons and print it. Something like “Free massage from me“, “Free meal cooked by me“, “Free baby sitting services” or even “I’ll be your slave for a day“. To add to a special touch, hand-write it yourself. That would cost you only the paper and the ink that you’ll be using. Cost:$0.10 printing
- Nice effects especially when you put your message and fold it origami style. He/she will appreciate your effort and the creativity you put into your gift. You can give this even if you’re not rich. Cost:$0.0
- Just take an old bottle, clean it up, insert your lovely poem or message then put a cork in it. Literally speaking. Quick, neat and easy. Cost:$0.05 Cork
In the end, the often less expensive gifts that truly matter comes from inside a person. My heart. Less hassle and less time consuming than picking for that expensive gift.
Incidentally today is our monthsary. Time to gift him a unique gift again. ^_^
