A long long time

I was (absent without leave) AWOL from this site for the whole summer. Yes April – May are the months for summer in the Philippines. Hopefully i get back in circulation now that school is starting again.

See ya ^_^

Reminiscing the past

It’s been a while since i last wrote here. I have started many drafts and ended up not publishing them. The posts seem weak and hurried. Like I was just trying to post them for the sake of posting something.

When I started this out, I really wanted to post our journey online here in this “earn money online” blog. I wanted to write about everything under the sun and if possible connect them with how we are going to earn online or how we are earning online. I still want to do that.

A few hours ago, i browsed through some of my high school classmates’ online blogs. Some of my former classmates post in friendster, some in multiply, some in facebook and some in general wordpress, live journal, type pad and other blogs. Some of my high school mates went on and forged college friends. Some remained in constant communication with other high school friends. In these blogs I discovered what’s happening with them. Who are already married and who became gays or lesbians. In all these I also realized something. I don’t know what happened to me.

My closest high school friends and I meet each other just about once a year or probably trice at most since leaving college. I met many people in college but I don’t know where they are now. I met many people when I started working but after I resigned somehow we didn’t contact each other anymore.

Maybe I’m just a sentimental fool. I miss my younger years. When we didn’t have to worry about the world, about why the world is in chaos, why people obsess with the peso – dollar exchange rate, why why whys in the world.

Now I am in my mid 20sh. Some of my friends have kids of their own. Some are planning to get married. Some have passed from this earth. Some still worry about their own lives. Some have no lives at all. Where do I fit in?

Is this the midlife crisis? In any sense, I am still continuing our quest in getting from rags to riches in the cyberworld. Come join us!

7 steps to do when encountering any problem

A couple of days ago all of my sites were down because of some problems with my hosting. I waited for some hours since dreamhost was quick enough to announce that they are having problems with my cluster. But after announcing that they have fixed the problem but my sites were still down, I emailed their customer support. An hour after my email, all of my sites were back up. We’re back in the business of earning money online and get from rags to riches online.

I normally do these steps when encountering any problem whether on my site or in any of my other endeavors.

1. Be patient.
2. Check for announcements or apology.
3. Wait for a certain grace period.
4. After the time lapse, email the person or support.
5. Attach a supporting image to your claim.
6. Wait for results
7. Repeat from step 1.

I rarely get angry but if I do then there’s a darn good reason for it.

How about you? What do you do when your site is down? That’s the biggest problem of any blogger.

Worse than spoon feeding

spoon-feeding-your-way-from-rags-to-riches“Spoon feeding in the long run teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon.” - Edward Morgan Forster

I recently visited Dean Hunt’s site and read his latest post about push button nation. You can read his post here. He was ranting about people wanting products that can be a success with just one click or in his sense, one push of a button.

With all the tutorials, seo guides and tips that we have everywhere on the web, people still keep on looking for quicker solutions (Ouch! Are’ya guilty on that too?).

This is why many turnkey products or solutions are exploding all over the net. Many marketers are appealing to the lazy side of the human nature. In every online marketing product you have read, almost 99% are saying “You can be rich just like me” and subtly saying “Look at me I’m lazy yet I earn more than you do.” People who are sold to the idea just go on and think that there really must be an instant success online with just one click of the mouse. And because of that, they fail to earn money online.

This is really worse than spoon feeding. There is really no recipe for instant success overnight. Well except maybe if you win in a million dollar lottery but that does not count.

Darn! If only there is a weight-loss push button product out there just like what Dean jokingly said, I would really love to get my hands on that. In the mean time, I need to get my butt out of my chair and really start working on ideas on how to get from rags to riches online.
