With so many blogging platforms and/or cms to use, one can wonder which one is better and easier to use. If you’re just simply blogging and just putting your thoughts online without any care about your design or your site’s functionalities, even simple pages like a plain html can work. But if you plan to earn online and get from rags to riches in this cyberworld then a good platform matters.

I have tried the free livejournal and free wordpress hosted by them. My previous LJ was supposed to be in private mode. All entries should not be viewable by anyone. Unfortunately it got hacked. As in someone went through my entries and it was not me. I opened a wordpress account and since it was free, i can’t use javascript or customize the css to my liking. A friend suggested joomla since it is a cms and he said it’s easy to use. So i installed joomla in my computer and tried it out. Unfortunately i had a hard time understanding it. Back to the drawing board.

Then it got me to compare the different blogging platforms. I visited blogs and sites, checked reviews and critics, skimmed through comparison charts and eventually decided that wordpress is the best suited for me. You might ask, how did i come up with that? Let’s see.

1) Easy WYSWYG editor

2) Can easily add widgets and plugins

3) Automatic pings to notify search engines and networks about new posts

4) Use of javascript

5) Can customize your css

6) Simple dashboard

Can easily integrate a store if i might want to sell something in the future

9) Sorts between static pages and regular posts

10) Saves drafts and autopublish posts sent thru email

Ok ok so basically my point is I like wordpress. What about you? What blogging platform do you think is best for you? Earning money and getting from rags to riches online always have a good start. This is ours.
