I recently joined the Busby Seo Test to check if i am learning SEO so i can improve and get from rags to riches online. On the first day when i took up the challenge, I got to page 25 of the result when you search the term “Busby Seo Test“, on the 2nd day I went to page 8. I didn’t anything since i was busy at work and school so I wasn’t surprised when i saw my site at page 9 on the 3rd day and page 10 on the 4th day. That was yesterday. Now when i check my standing again, my site was nowhere to be found. Darn!

To say i was shocked is an understatement. ARGH! I did nothing for the past few days and now i’m gone from google? Talk about being frustrated. I looked around to know how to find out if google did ban my site. Here is how to know.

Option 1:
1. Download google’s toolbar.
2. Go to the site and check the pagerank.
If it shows gray then google hasn’t indexed your site yet or you were removed from google’s indexed sites.

Option 2:
1. Go to google.com
2. Type in site:(your url)
example site:http://www.janrafi.com
3. Click search.
If you can’t see your site, then chances are you were removed from google’s index.

The first option is kind of faulty since some sites do show gray even though they were not removed from google at all. Probably some bug in the software or lag in the internet connection. The second option works best.

I also found out that a site could be removed accidentally or unintentionally. This case happens when google’s robot run it’s rounds and your site was down at that time. Since google’s bot can’t find you, it removed your site from it’s database. It assumes that you have deleted your site.

That’s a relief. I haven’t set up my site’s uptime report yet so i don’t know if my site was down when the bot looked around. I hope it was like that. I can still continue my search engine optimizations and hopefully when it makes it rounds again tomorrow, I will see my site there.

I will make a topic next time on what to do if google did ban you. For now i will wait when my Busby Seo Test site is up and continue getting from rags to riches online.
