Thinking about how to get from rags to riches online When we started this blog, i already wrote down my goals and how to get from rags to riches online. I know we should put content, write articles, socialize and other stuffs. What i didn’t count on was the number of times we should blog.

I often visit websites including other money making sites also hoping to become rich online. I see how many times people write. There are those who post articles everyday and then there are also those who post once a week.

Google loves unique content and if your site always have new articles, google will know it. That’s the main reason why people post regularly. Besides if your site is always up to date, search engines will always index it. So how often should a person blog?

To answer that, you should ask yourself first. Will you be able to keep up to your own pace? Can you stay on your niche and not be drained of topics to blog about? More often than not, rags to riches online websites expire because the bloggers didn’t plan ahead and became impatient of whatever results they were expecting.

So if you know your capability then decide now. You can blog once a day or even more. There are many topics under the sun and even in your own online niche there are many topics to blog about. I plan to blog whenever the mood strikes me. It could be once a day but definitely at least once a week. This is for real and we plan to deliver.

Rags to riches online is not a dream. It can be a reality.

I’ve been blogging for several years now, although I do not focus on making money from my blog.

Nonetheless, last year, I started trying to blog at least once a day, more if there are more things that I want to say.

It can be a challenge, and it certainly isn’t passive. However, seeking to write each day gets a lot of content up and it really helps with ones writing.

If you can make the time, you should go for it, even if you have to struggle with coming up for a topic to fill the blank page with.

For beginners, your blog looks totally awesome. You are off to a great start. My blog isn’t much of anything; I haven’t hosted it, can’t get a page rank on it, and consider it more or less a notebook for myself. One thing I will convey to you is that you need to start list building if you want to succeed online. I have an autoresponder hooked into my blog just in case, but list building is key. The saying goes, “the money is in the list” and this is true for online success. I see you are into the Entrecard program, and one thing you could do is offer FREE entrecards to people who subscribe to your autoresponder and who subscribe as a reader to your blog. This is a way to build traffic and your list. You will see other bloggers offering contests as well, and it is all done for the sake of building traffic, obtaining readers, and for those that use an autoresponder, list building. You are looking very good. Keep up the good work.

@Anabella, nice tips. we just can’t provide auto responders yet since that costs money. something that we still don’t have. we’ll keep that in mind though.

@ Aldon, One of the main reasons why we choose to blog is so that we can polish and practice our writing skills more. But don’t you have a hard time filling in the blank pages? Writer’s block.

Getting things planned out and defining your goals is a great thing. I strongly agree with that.

I blog too often in one of my blogs. I would sometimes even go for 6 posts in a day for that blog, because I want to earn from some paid posts.

Most often longer posts make it through search engines so I get a good traffic from that. I don’t do purely long posts or short posts. Just a combination of both.

  9. Janrafi on August 29th, 2008 8:21 pm

@gem, blogging for 6 posts in a day?! WOW! right now i can’t imagine ourselves doing that since we have full day jobs but maybe in the future we can also do that.

You should check out how prolific Gem can be. Honestly, in the real world, I am very busy man – managing about 2 companies at a time, still I try to blog a few stuffs under my pseudonym bloggista. It’s hard if you have lots of things to do, esp when I don’t really write well – but its what inspired me to blog even more – being able to write some stuff was my dream even when I was a kid. Im not like Gem or even you Catherine, it shows how well you could write great stuff.

Great article! I can only blog once a day really. As an artist, time I spend online is time I have to spend wisely because it takes me out of the studio, which is where I should be now in fact. :)

  12. Janrafi on August 30th, 2008 11:25 pm

@ladyK, ehehe i’m sure you’re doing something important right now that kept you from your studio.

@bloggista, thanks for your nice words. ^_^
