Entrecard for Rich TrafficWhen we started this site, we had no idea how to drive traffic within 24 hours. Aug 14 was the first day of this blog. We were just so happy that we actually own a site that we didn’t do anything on the first day. You know. Just getting the hang of it, looking at the ins and outs, how to customize, what to do, how to start our journey from rags to riches online.

After that’s almost done and hopefully within this week, everything will be working fine. How to spread the word about the site? Tada! Enter entrecard.

It’s really like a business card where you drop your card to different establishments or in this case, websites. People visit your site so they can drop their cards and you hope that they will like your site enough to visit it again. Each time they drop their card, they will earn some Entracard Credit (EC). Kinda like a currency you can use to buy an advertising position or even some stuffs in the entrecard store. I see people buying and selling ECs and i wondered how they were able to gain a huge amount of ECs.

In the three days since i joined entrecard, our site gained almost 100 visitors total. That’s a huge thing considering this is a brand new site. The main reason why people want to have ECs is the cost of advertising in other websites. And MAN! Talk about exponential pricing. Imagine if you want to advertise in a blog with 13 pending ads in queue, you will need to pay 8192 ECs. The good thing about advertising in blogs with high prices, you can be sure that those are highly visited blogs.

Earning ECs can be tough but i think i’m beginning to get the hang of it. According to the help guide:

1) Once you drop your card, you will earn an ec. It has a one to one correspondence. One drop = One ec. Earn with a maximum of 300 drops/day.

2) Post an article in your blog, get 25 ec. Bad side is you can only earn every 3 days.

3) Sell your stuffs in exchange for ecs. Be it material or digital.

4) Join contests. To be honest i’m quite tempted to join in many contests but with too many contests in different sites, i have no idea where to start.

5) Buy credits. This is by far the easiest and most expensive way of getting ecs.

Of course incoming traffic is very nice. But to really retain the visitors, we need to provide something that can catch their attention. This is only the first step.

I’m fairly new to Entrecard too. So far I have been very pleased with the results. I love the idea of the exponential advertising too. It’s a great concept.

yups i agree. it is a great concept. but in the long run you will still need something eye catchy to make the ec droppers stay in your site. i’m still thinking of that.

Entrecard is great. Some visitors become regulars which is super great.

Good up the good work. Nice design by the way.
