After what happened and the hassles and panic that we went through when this rags to riches online blog went down, it made us think what the reasons should be to continue blogging. It sounded easy but it wasn’t so i decided to write down the reasons why i should stop blogging.
1.) No more time. It messes with my free time. Between full time work and school, i don’t have much time left for anything else.
2.) No more fun. It is becoming a chore and not something that i look forward to doing.
3.) No money. We’re not earning from it right now and it drains money out of our pockets.
4.) No extra activities. I’d rather spend time hanging out with my honey than just think about what to write and how to write it.
5.) No more excuses. It keeps me from starting a business or a new venture or something else. It is the perfect excuse for procrastination.
6.) No new content. In fact most ideas i think of if i google them, a good bet would be more than hundreds of results with the same content.
7.) No visitors. Even if i do get at least 1 visitor, my guess would be he/she will just drop for an entrecard visit and leave without even reading anything off this site. Touch and go visitors.
8.) No pleasure. I seem to have lost the sense of pleasure when blogging. With another site to keep up and regular article submissions to a different site, when i have the time to update this site, I would feel drained and emotionless.
9.) No purpose. Yes we started this as an online blog for our journey from rags to riches. But so far we haven’t done anything to that path yet.
10.) _____________ . I still don’t have a 10th reason.
To be honest i don’t want to think of a 10th reason. It would mean the completion of the answers of my question, “Why should i stop blogging?”
Now that i have written my negative list. It is easier to plan for counter measures to remove all the negative reasons and revive my drive again. After all, the negative reasons are every blogger’s dilemma. It is the counter measures that define those who continue blogging long after their 2nd month.
Statistics may show that people normally stop blogging after the 2nd month. Well this is one blogger that will not be counted in that number. The online journey has just begun.

I’ve thought of quitting several times in the 2 years + that I/my cats have been blogging. I don’t quit because I’d miss the friends I’ve made in the blogging community.
Most of my online friends don’t blog. Maybe that’s also one reason why i find it hard to continue. That’s why i need to strengthen my resolve to continue what we started.
Blogging isn’t fun – when you’re too conscious of what you blog and what might other people say about you. Its good thing you just went on blogging – no pressure. I’ve learned that, plus the fact that I am not a good writer/blogger. I just do it for fun. I manage a company, got other activities offline, but still, I find blogging a good outlet to lots of stuff – like acting childish at times, looking stupid at times, cynical at times which I can’t do much offline.
There’ll always be thousand and one reasons to stop blogging, but just one good reason to go on – you just try to have fun. Celebrate when you have 100 visitors or 1 visitor, when you have 5 posts a week, or just 3 posts a month.
thanks for the encouragement B. i needed that. you’re right, even with 1 visitor a day we should keep on doing what we started. Something like “the show must go on in full gala.”
Hi janrafi I think its a bad news for us.I think we would miss you if you left from our entrecard community.I know you have less time and you are affraid to maintaining cost such on domain, host etc.You have shaid that you couldnt make any money from your blog. Why not try some money making steps trhough the blog.I think there are many from entrecarders who can help you to find out some earning ideas,so that you can maintains your daily budgets. If needed I can help you.You have a good blog and your site designs also looks like proffessional.Dont worry and keep blogging, atleast few post in a month. Thanks and hope best for your future decisions.
@freemoney, thanks. i modified the revolution template but i may change it again in the future. we do know that we should start doing something if we want our blog to earn money. but right now we don’t have free time to make changes. probably by december since i am thinking of resigning from work.
Good luck buddy.
@freemoney. hehehe thanks. i will need that.
Hey you are always welcome buddy.Anything can possible for me,I shall encourage you.
You have made a good blog and its a waste if you will just quit. Why don’t you trim down your posting. I think it is ideal to post 2x or just 1 a week since most visitors are busy themselves and don’t have time to read everyday.
Just enjoy what your doing.
@jean, thanks for your input. we’re still posting away. ^_^
